Osterville Legacy Style Custom Home
Craftsmen from all over the globe were recruited to design and build this spectacular legacy-style home. The result is a tasteful and elegant family retreat located in understated Osterville, Massachusetts. This home features three out-buildings on a 15,000 square foot main residence. From the surface level, this custom home showcases clean, crisp, and simple design that complements the surrounding landscape. It includes masonry featuring exotic stones and tiles, and every step through the property leads to many never-before-seen moments. Diving deeper into the details of this building reveals the complex integration of mechanical features that result in efficiencies and comfort normally found only in hotels. The custom millwork features, present in every niche of this home, resonate with timeless elegance.
Built Smart, Built Better
The home includes a sophisticated security system, along with 25 televisions, 3 projectors, 946 indoor light fixtures, 116 outdoor light fixtures, and numerous thermostats that are controlled by computers and smartphones for ultimate convenience and comfort.
Infinity Pool
The 20×60 foot infinity pool leads into a 20×60 foot kiddie pool. The pool is equipped with 4 different heaters and a salt solution system. No less important is the 14-person hot tub that accompanies the infinity pool.
The Pool House
The pool house is another beautiful space made for rest and relaxation. The aesthetic was designed to tie closely to that of the main house. We installed lightly stained cedar shingles to elicit a Cape Cod feel and a copper roof was installed. Nearby, a detached 3-car garage was built to house 2 car lifts to accommodate a total of 5 cars.
The Kitchen
This spectacular kitchen features a Miele refrigerator and freezer, a Gagano wall oven, induction cooktop, and griddle. To enhance the flow of the space and seamlessly connect the kitchen and 4-season porch, we worked with Marvin. We created a double-hung window as a single panel and installed the window on a soft-close pocket door kit to prevent the window from closing too quickly.
Room For the Kids
The client wanted to create spaces for the kids that would allow them to have fun and play without disrupting other areas of the house. We installed a vibration isolating ceiling system to reduce sound and vibration from both of the children’s rooms.
Personal Exercise Room
An exciting and integral aspect of the gym area is the golf simulator. In order to combat noise and prevent damage, the room design included heavily carpeted ceiling and walls. The previous flooring was also replaced with sound-insulating flooring.
Custom Bowling Alley
Once an empty storage room, now an at-home bowling alley! After a wall demolition and change in the HVAC system, stained floors were added along with lights and a disco ball.
Laundry Room
This first-floor laundry room includes features that cater to the dog-friendly homeowner. A tiled glass enclosure with a unique shower-head serves as a dog washing station with an English-imported drying station situated just to the left. Completing the laundry room is a remote sensored doggy door equipped with an aluminum plate that retreats into the wall.
Custom Barn Door
Per client request, we gathered the hardware to make a barn door from scratch. We created a double-sided barn door with one side consisting of chestnut longboards and the other repurposed oak hardwood. The sliding mechanism of the barn door was also custom designed and fabricated using pulleys made to the specifications of the client and dimensions of the home.
Entertainment Space
This not-so-average basement was made for pure entertainment and fun. The room includes a pool table, bar, and large format TV, a great spot for lounging and watching a game. The striking, exposed wood beams and reclaimed oak flooring combined with navy elements create a modern, yet rustic aesthetic for the perfect hangout space.
