Wellesley Transitional Home Renovation

This Wellesley home renovation included a complete reworking of the first-floor and basement layouts, custom millwork, upgraded heating and cooling systems, as well as a complete exterior facelift with new siding, roof and entry. As with most older homes, the original layout does not meet the needs of a modern-day family; our clients sought a more open, bright space that allowed their family to gather comfortably together but still have unique, cozy spaces to curl up with a book in front of a fire.

The Kitchen

Two islands were chosen instead of one long island so that the movement and flow of the space was not dictated by one large heavy piece. Functionality is important to the design, especially for a family home – the use of the space needed to play an integral part to the design.

The Bar

Integrated custom bar millwork and wine storage blend seamlessly with the rest of the kitchen cabinetry.

Dining Room Transformation

A seldom used wood paneled den was transformed into a dramatic formal dining room. Wrap around windows provide ample light to the room, allowing the interior designer to use a bold color for the space that sets itself apart from the more relaxed areas of the house.

Family Room

Family room vaulted ceiling was painted white, accent ceiling added in kitchen to tie the two spaces together. Ceiling details added interest and height to space.
